Course Lecturer – Disability, Technology, and Public Affairs (CANS 312)

About the role
McGill Institute for the Study of Canada seeks a Course Lecturer to teach CANS 312 – Disability, Technology, and Public Affairs during the Fall 2026 term. The lecturer will lead weekly sessions, guide student learning, and contribute to the department’s academic mission.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver lectures on the evolution of disability rights in Canada, including policy frameworks at federal and provincial levels.
- Design and update course materials, readings, and assessments aligned with the 3‑credit syllabus.
- Evaluate student assignments, exams, and participation, providing constructive feedback.
- Hold regular office hours and respond to student inquiries.
- Collaborate with faculty and support staff to ensure smooth course administration.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (PhD preferred).
- Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian disability rights policies and related public affairs.
- Prior teaching or lecturing experience at the university level.
- Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.
- Proficiency in English communication, both spoken and written.
Required skills
- No specific technical skills required.
What we offer
- Compensation of $11,824 CAD per course.
