Corporate/Commercial Lawyer – Toronto

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Corporate/Commercial or Commercial Litigation Lawyer to join a dynamic Toronto‑based law firm. This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial attorney who wants to grow a portable practice while working on sophisticated corporate and commercial matters.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on a broad range of corporate, commercial and litigation issues.
• Manage legal files independently from initial consultation through resolution or transaction completion.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, contracts, pleadings and other legal documents.
• Conduct legal research, analysis and develop practical legal strategies.
• Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, dispute‑resolution processes and court proceedings where applicable.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while expanding a portable book of business.
• Collaborate with colleagues on cross‑practice matters and legal strategy.
• Handle multiple files, meeting deadlines and client expectations.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent legal education.
• Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate/commercial law or commercial litigation.
• Existing portable/moveable book of business.
