Cook's Helper

About the role

The Cook's Helper supports kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness, preparing simple food items, and assisting servers. This full‑time position is based at L'Abbaye St‑Benoit du lac.

Key responsibilities

• Bring clean dishes, flatware and other items to serving areas and set tables.
• Operate dishwashers and hand‑wash dishes, glassware, pots and pans.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen work surfaces, equipment, carts and waste units.
• Prepare, heat and finish simple food items; wash, peel and cut vegetables and fruit.
• Replenish condiments and supplies at tables and serving stations.
• Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers and cupboards.
• Use manual and electrical appliances to peel, slice and trim foodstuffs.
• Maintain a tidy storage area and handle cleaning products safely.

Required profile

• Client‑focused with strong interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, dependable and a positive team player.
• Physically able to stand for long periods and perform repetitive, demanding tasks.
• Own transportation for commuting.
• 1–2 years of kitchen or food‑service experience.

Required skills

• Dishwasher operation and manual dishwashing.
• Food preparation, including washing, peeling and cutting produce.
