Cook – Italian Cuisine Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced cook to lead our kitchen at Pizza Stop in Upper Tantallon. The role involves preparing authentic Italian dishes, managing kitchen staff, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes, focusing on Italian cuisine.
• Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
• Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Train staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and safe handling.
• Order supplies and equipment and maintain inventory records.
• Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, ensuring efficient workflow.
• Maintain accurate records of food, supplies, and equipment.
• Clean kitchen and work areas regularly.
• Recruit, hire, and onboard new kitchen personnel.
• Manage overall kitchen operations and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of cooking experience, preferably in Italian cuisine.
• Strong attention to detail and client focus.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
• Dependable, flexible, and organized with good time‑management skills.
• Valid driver’s licence and own transportation.
• Proven ability to train and supervise kitchen staff.
• Excellent record‑keeping and inventory management skills.
