Cook – Full-time Restaurant Position

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Cook to join our restaurant team in Fergus, ON. The role involves preparing and cooking complete meals, special diet meals, and overseeing daily kitchen operations in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes.
• Prepare special meals for patients as instructed by a dietitian or chef.
• Inspect kitchens and food service areas for cleanliness and safety.
• Train staff in food preparation, cooking, and handling.
• Order supplies and equipment as needed.
• Supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
• Clean kitchen and work areas regularly.
• Recruit, hire, and onboard new kitchen staff.
• Organize buffets and banquets.
• Manage overall kitchen operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety and security standards.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of cooking experience in a restaurant setting.
• College or CEGEP diploma in a related culinary program.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast‑paced environment.
• Physically able to stand for extended periods and handle repetitive tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety.
• Team‑player with reliability, flexibility, and initiative.
• Basic security clearance and ability to use public transportation.
