Cook - CIBC Executive Dining

About the role

CIBC Executive Dining, run by Oliver & Bonacini, offers a private members-style experience with elevated seasonal cuisine, a curated beverage program and personalized service. The Cook works Monday to Friday, mainly on day shifts, and is expected to show inspired quality, keep the kitchen clean and honour guest special requests.

Key responsibilities

• Perform delegated tasks from the Sous Chef, Chef and/or General Manager
• Prepare food day to day according to O&B standards, following recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications
• Maintain a prep list of station duties and follow the FIFO method to keep food fresh
• Assist with food inventory and control, and help receive and store deliveries
• Clean prep areas, equipment and utensils, and follow sanitation, food safety and hygiene guidelines
• Follow WHMIS and MSDS guidelines
• Other duties as assigned

Required profile

• 1-2 years of cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant; fine dining experience is an asset
• A culinary diploma or degree is an asset
• Ability to take direction and work calmly and effectively under pressure
• Able to stand 100% of the time

Required skills

• Basic understanding of professional cooking
• Knife handling skills
