Convocation Gown & Hood Attendant (Seasonal/Part‑Time)

About the role

The Events office of Gaspard Cap and Gown is seeking a Convocation Gown & Hood Attendant to support the University of Winnipeg’s graduation ceremonies. Working under the Gaspard Manager, you will ensure graduates receive their academic regalia promptly and professionally.

Key responsibilities

• Unload and load boxes of hoods and gowns before and after ceremonies.
• Unpack, sort, and repack regalia items according to event schedules.
• Distribute gowns and hoods to graduates, faculty and staff, following manager instructions.
• Provide clear instructions and a welcoming atmosphere to all participants.
• Maintain cleanliness of the hood and gown area and manage traffic flow during set‑up and tear‑down.
• Assist with setup, cleanup, and organization of the regalia space each day.

Required profile

• Current University of Winnipeg student able to work all scheduled days.
• Strong personal time‑management and punctuality.
• Ability to lift boxes weighing 25 kg or more.
• Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills in a fast‑paced environment.
• Team‑oriented attitude with flexibility and integrity.
• Detail‑oriented, organized and able to follow instructions; must have a Social Insurance Number for payroll.
