Controls Technician – Electrical & Electronics

About the role

The Controls Technician will design, develop, install and maintain electrical and electronic power equipment for a manufacturing environment. The role involves interpreting technical drawings, supervising commissioning activities and ensuring reliable operation of control systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop power equipment and systems.
• Install, commission and service electrical and electronic equipment.
• Interpret blueprints and other instructions to plan methods and sequences of operation.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, including motors, generators, drives and control circuits.
• Develop maintenance and operating standards for electrical and electronic systems.
• Connect cables, tubes and wires and conduct feasibility studies for generation and distribution networks.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of experience in electrical/electronic controls.
• Ability to work shift or on‑call as required.
• Valid driver's licence, own vehicle and ability to pass a criminal record check.

Required skills

• Programming software and languages.
• Computer‑aided design (CAD) and AutoCAD.
• MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
• Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and TCP/IP networking.
• Robotics equipment and data communication systems.
• Electric motors, generators, drives and motor controls.
• Electronic testing equipment.
