Controls Engineer

About the role

Join Johnson Controls as a Controls Engineer, contributing to the development of smart, sustainable building solutions. You will work on industrial and commercial refrigeration projects, ensuring equipment performance and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in new product development, including concept work, equipment specification, risk analysis, controls development, factory acceptance testing, commissioning, and training.
• Design, debug, and refine control platforms by writing well‑organized, documented, maintainable, and reusable code.
• Develop, review, and maintain documentation, files, databases, drawings, and schematics to preserve equipment control integrity.
• Implement robust control sequences that optimize equipment efficiency and reliability.
• Support the service team during start‑up and commissioning activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Electro‑Mechanical, or Mechanical engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in industrial or commercial refrigeration.
• Bilingual in English and French.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and control engineering principles and manufacturing standards (CSA, UL, NEC).
• Understanding of thermodynamics and ability to perform thorough risk analysis.
• Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
