Construction Superintendent

About the role

Our client, a major oil and gas company, is seeking a Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on multiple active projects in Cold Lake, Alberta. The role focuses on safely delivering road construction, liner installations, and earthworks for pump jack infrastructure and water retention systems.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily construction activities across several projects, including road building, equipment pads, and water retention systems.
• Lead site teams in liner installation, ensuring compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
• Oversee grading, base preparation, and compaction for new access roads and pump‑jack pads.
• Manage mobilization and installation of liner materials for water retention projects.
• Select, place, and compact compatible clay for road construction and liner support.
• Interpret and enforce technical requirements for subgrade preparation, moisture conditioning, and compaction.
• Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to maintain schedules and resolve on‑site issues.
• Monitor productivity, costs, and quality while enforcing safety regulations and reporting progress.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar supervisory role.
• Strong background in liner installation for water retention or containment systems.
• Hands‑on experience in road construction, including work with compatible clay materials.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects, preferably in oil & gas infrastructure.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
