About the role
We are looking for a reliable Construction Helper to join Newton Rebar Service Ltd on a permanent, full‑time basis. The role involves supporting various construction activities on outdoor sites throughout Surrey, BC, and requires flexibility to work different shifts.
Key responsibilities
- Load, unload and transport construction materials, including concrete, asphalt and rebar.
- Erect and dismantle forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades.
- Mix, pour and spread concrete and asphalt as directed.
- Assist in pipe alignment, drilling, blasting, and framing tasks.
- Assist the medical examiner in charge on site.
- Tend or feed machines and equipment used in construction.
- Clean up chemical spills, remove rubble and debris, and maintain site safety.
Required profile
- No formal degree, certificate or diploma required.
- Experience in construction is an asset but not mandatory.
- Ability to work outdoors, at heights and in confined spaces.
- Willingness to work various shifts including early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends and on‑call.
