Construction Coordinator

About the role

FCC Canada is seeking a Construction Coordinator to support the delivery of large‑scale transportation infrastructure projects across Ontario and British Columbia. The role will focus on a specific station, ensuring all construction activities align with project agreements and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor construction activities for the assigned station and verify compliance with the project agreement.
• Create detailed scopes of work and coordinate with the procurement department to secure necessary contracts and supply chains.
• Provide contract administration, technical expertise, and support for civil works.
• Develop value‑engineering proposals to improve schedule, functionality and cost‑benefit.
• Track progress billing, cost reports, inventory and quantity metrics for each subcontractor.
• Negotiate and issue sub‑contracts, major purchase orders and progress payments while monitoring subcontractor schedules.
• Enforce contract documents with subcontractors and ensure all sketches and scope documents meet Ontario standards.
• Identify and manage risks and opportunities related to subcontractor scope.
• Prepare production, labour and machinery reports for effective work control.
• Monitor design progress, quality, constructability and timing of deliverables.
• Develop work plans, staging drawings and manage permit documentation.

Required profile

• University, college or postgraduate degree in Civil Engineering or Construction.
• Minimum 3 years of construction experience or an equivalent mix of education and training.
• Experience on multidisciplinary, large‑scale railway or similar infrastructure projects.
