Compliance Attorney - Regulatory Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Compliance Attorney with regulatory expertise to help shape realistic compliance scenarios for AI research. Working remotely, you will support Mercor’s legal team by creating high‑quality reference responses and evaluating AI‑generated outputs.

Key responsibilities

• Design realistic regulatory scenarios covering AML/BSA, OFAC sanctions, FCPA, FDA submissions, privacy, environmental permitting, export control and related areas.
• Write attorney‑level “golden” reference responses and grade AI‑generated answers against detailed rubrics.
• Provide written feedback to improve model behavior and participate in onboarding office‑hours and specialty calibration sessions.

Required profile

• 1–4 years of professional experience in regulatory or compliance law.
• J.D. (U.S./Canada) or LL.B./LL.M. from an accredited law school and a license to practice law in the United States (active or inactive).
• Strong background in AML/BSA, OFAC sanctions, FCPA/anti‑corruption, healthcare regulatory, FDA submissions, privacy, environmental permitting, export control or administrative hearings.
• Excellent written communication and high attention to detail.
