Compensation Consultant

About the role

The Compensation Consultant joins UBC's Compensation unit to manage bulk compensation processes for faculty and staff. You will oversee the annual faculty increase programs and ensure accurate, equitable salary administration across the university.

Key responsibilities

• Administer bulk compensation for faculty and staff, including annual increase cycles.
• Interpret compensation data, identify and resolve anomalies before each increase cycle.
• Partner with Faculty Relations to address compensation issues.
• Lead compensation‑related reporting projects and improve reporting efficiency.
• Provide guidance to team members on bargaining costing and data reporting.
• Collaborate with Dean’s Offices, the Office of the Provost, HR OpEx, ISC and other central units on salary administration and staff increase implementation.

Required profile

• Experience administering compensation for large academic or corporate populations.
• Strong understanding of collective agreements and salary administration policies.
• Ability to analyze compensation data and resolve discrepancies.
• Proven capability to lead reporting initiatives and work with cross‑functional stakeholders.
