Communications Manager

About the role

Uber is looking for a Communications Manager to shape strategic narratives and drive earned‑media opportunities across Canada. Reporting to the Head of Public Policy & Communications, you will work closely with Communications, Policy, Legal, Marketing and Operations to promote Uber’s mobility and delivery services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead integrated communications campaigns that support business priorities and enhance Uber’s reputation.
• Develop and execute earned‑media, stakeholder‑engagement, and executive‑visibility initiatives.
• Build and maintain relationships with Canadian media, influencers and key third‑party stakeholders.
• Advise senior leaders on messaging, translate complex policy and regulatory issues into clear narratives.
• Manage issues, rapid‑response communications, and proactive storytelling opportunities.
• Represent Uber in media interviews, industry forums and stakeholder discussions.
• Oversee external agency relationships and support change‑communication projects.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in communications, public affairs, media relations, journalism, government or related fields.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Strong media‑relations experience and deep understanding of the Canadian media and political landscape.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics.
• Experience supporting advocacy, stakeholder engagement, public policy or integrated digital campaigns.
