About the role
The Stop Community Food Centre is looking for a strategic and creative communications leader to shape its brand, drive public affairs, and support fundraising. Reporting to the Director of Development and Communications, you will position The Stop as a trusted voice on food insecurity, poverty, and equitable food systems.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute an integrated communications and marketing strategy aligned with organizational priorities.
- Lead brand management and storytelling initiatives to raise public awareness.
- Oversee media relations, public affairs, and advocacy communications to influence policy and community engagement.
- Collaborate with the Development team to design fundraising campaigns and donor communications.
- Manage organization‑wide communication plans, campaigns, and editorial calendars.
Required profile
- Exceptional writing ability and proven experience as a communications strategist.
- Collaborative leader who can influence public opinion and shape policy conversations.
- Demonstrated success in building media relationships and advancing advocacy goals.
- Passion for community‑focused missions and ability to inspire action.
