Communications Assistant – Schulich School of Music (Part‑time)

About the role

The Schulich School of Music is looking for a Communications Assistant to support its digital presence. This work‑study position is ideal for a current McGill student who enjoys music, social media, and content creation.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and update the school’s social media platforms, creating and scheduling posts.
• Prepare and publish concert listings and program information on official channels.
• Review the school’s website and event calendar for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist the communications team with planning, drafting articles, and producing web and social media content.
• Collect and report data on audience engagement and platform performance.

Required profile

• High school diploma (or equivalent) with at least two years of related experience.
• Current McGill student accepted into the Work‑Study program, with a valid Work‑Study Confirmation Letter.
• Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work on the McGill campus in Quebec.
• High level of written and oral English and French.
• Strong attention to detail, proactive attitude, and ability to work autonomously.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office suite.
• Adobe Creative Suite (experience considered an asset).
• Proficiency with social media platforms and basic analytics.
