About the role

The Ontario Energy Board is seeking Commissioners to guide major energy infrastructure investments and utility rate approvals across the province. This quasi‑judicial position influences decisions that affect millions of consumers, businesses, and communities.

Key responsibilities

• Render timely, clear, and high‑quality adjudicative decisions in line with statutory requirements and natural justice principles.
• Hear and decide substantive and procedural matters through oral, written, or electronic hearings.
• Review applications for major infrastructure projects and utility rates, balancing affordability, reliability, and economic growth.
• Collaborate with fellow Commissioners and staff to uphold adjudicative excellence and modernize regulatory processes.

Required profile

• Accomplished leader with experience in adjudication, law, finance, economics, engineering, accounting, public policy, governance, regulation, or other senior decision‑making roles.
• Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, and strong analytical ability.
• Capacity to quickly master complex, evidence‑based issues with significant public impact.
