Coffee Operator – Production & Roasting

About the role

Join Kicking Horse Coffee as a Coffee Operator and be part of every step that turns green beans into Canada’s premium coffee. You’ll work on a dynamic production line, handling roasting, packaging, and quality control while contributing to a sustainable, Fairtrade brand.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, roast, bag, and box coffee beans following standard operating procedures and detailed recipes.
• Operate roasting and packaging equipment via HMI touch screens.
• Perform basic equipment troubleshooting and collaborate with the Maintenance team.
• Safely transport beans and materials using a forklift.
• Conduct daily clean‑ups of hoppers, de‑stoners, bins, and silos.
• Enter production data into ERP software, track recipes, allocate materials, and maintain inventory.
• Follow all health, safety, and quality policies.
• Participate in Kaizen (continuous improvement) initiatives and cross‑train across plant areas.

Required profile

• Physical ability to lift 25‑50 lb, push, twist, and bend for up to 8 hours per shift.
• Basic computer and data‑entry skills; willingness to learn new tools.
• Understanding of workplace safety and commitment to follow procedures.
• Previous experience in manufacturing, production, or operating packaging equipment is an asset.
