CNC Setter Operator

About the role

Johnson Electric is hiring a CNC Setter Operator in Stratford, Ontario, in an onsite, full-time permanent position. The role supports the production team by setting up and operating CNC equipment, meeting quality standards and keeping manufacturing efficient. It suits someone who wants hands-on experience in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up CNC machines and install and remove tooling, chucks, collets and adapters as required.
• Load and unload parts while maintaining production targets and quality standards.
• Monitor machine performance, make size adjustments and index cutting inserts as needed.
• Collect and chart SPC data according to process specifications.
• Follow environmental health and safety, quality and operational procedures.
• Support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives within the department.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a CNC Machining or related Manufacturing program.
• Basic knowledge of machining principles, CNC equipment and manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of CNC controls and programming fundamentals.
• Strong mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
