CNC Machinist – Precision Manufacturing

About the role

Join Sond Industries Ltd. as a CNC Machinist in Calgary, where you will contribute to high‑precision manufacturing of components. You will work in a fast‑paced environment, ensuring parts meet exact specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Measure and lay out work pieces for assembly.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables.
• Set up and adjust conventional and computer‑controlled machine tools.
• Fit and assemble components to tight tolerances.
• Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments.
• Document and report any deviations from specifications.
• Verify dimensions of machined parts using micrometers, calipers and gauges.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation.
• 1‑2 years of experience in CNC or conventional machining.
• Ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
• Physically capable of standing for long periods and handling repetitive tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation.

Required skills

• CNC machine operation.
• Conventional machine‑tool setup.
• Blueprint and engineering drawing interpretation.
