Clinical Research Coordinator – Heart Lung Innovation

About the role
The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) will manage multiple clinical studies and trials at the Centre for Heart Lung Innovation (HLI) located in St. Paul’s Hospital, downtown Vancouver. The role ensures study activities are executed according to protocol while maintaining high standards of security, privacy, and ethics.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise day‑to‑day activities of HLI clinical research projects, including participant screening, enrollment, and visit scheduling.
- Collect and process biological specimens such as mouthwash, swabs, sputum, urine, and blood (with accredited certification).
- Gather and enter clinical and administrative data, process patient honoraria, and maintain accurate records.
- Develop work priorities, set timelines, and ensure research objectives and deadlines are met.
- Liaise with physicians, nurses, technicians, and hospital departments (laboratories, radiology, outpatient services) to coordinate study operations.
- Provide supervision and guidance to research assistants and students.
Required profile
- Experience coordinating clinical research studies or trials.
- Ability to follow detailed protocols and maintain ethical standards.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective communication with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
Required skills
- Biological sample collection and processing.
- Data entry and clinical data management.
- Patient honorarium processing.
