Clinical Research Coordinator – Heart Lung Innovation

About the role
The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) will support multiple heart, lung and critical‑care clinical studies at the Centre for Heart Lung Innovation (HLI) located in St. Paul’s Hospital, Vancouver. Reporting to the Clinical Research Services Core Manager, the CRC ensures study activities are executed according to protocol, regulatory standards and timelines.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and execute study activities across several protocols, including participant screening, enrollment, visit scheduling and data collection.
- Collect, process and ship biological specimens such as mouthwash, swabs, sputum, urine and, when certified, blood samples.
- Enter clinical and administrative data accurately into study databases and manage patient honorarium processing.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, lab technicians and hospital staff to follow study SOPs.
- Assist Research Managers with ethics and regulatory submissions and maintain compliance with privacy and security policies.
- Supervise research assistants or students as required and provide training on study procedures.
Required profile
- Experience in coordinating clinical research studies or trials.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, clinical staff and investigators.
- Attention to detail and commitment to ethical research practices.
Required skills
- Knowledge of clinical research protocols and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
- Proficiency in handling and processing biological specimens.
- Experience with data entry and management in research databases.
