Clinical Pharmacist – Remote

About the role

Alberta Health Services is seeking a skilled Clinical Pharmacist to join a patient‑focused, virtual team. The position is primarily remote, with optional office space on request, and supports patients who have experienced acute coronary syndrome by managing dyslipidemia through electronic health records.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute pharmaceutical services safely and efficiently.
• Manage medication therapy for new and existing patients, including assessment and resolution of drug‑related problems.
• Obtain informed consent, evaluate cholesterol management, order follow‑up lipid testing, and prescribe lipid‑lowering therapies when appropriate.
• Complete insurance authorizations and documentation, and coordinate follow‑up appointments.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including a cardiologist, to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records in electronic health systems and use drug information resources.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
• Current, provisional, or transferable pharmacy registration.
• Strong critical‑thinking and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Capacity to manage approximately six to ten new patients daily.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
• Use of drug information databases.
• Prescribing and managing lipid‑lowering therapies.
• Ordering laboratory tests and handling insurance documentation.
