Clinical Educator – Northern Ontario

About the role

The Regional Clinical Educator supports clinical excellence and workforce capability across long‑term care homes in Northern Ontario. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Clinical Education, you will deliver evidence‑informed skills training, simulation, coaching and competency development to ensure safe, person‑centred resident care.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver standardized onboarding, transition‑to‑practice and ongoing clinical skills education for regulated and unregulated staff.
• Facilitate learner‑centred sessions using skills labs, simulation, micro‑learning, bedside coaching and virtual platforms.
• Assess and validate competencies through knowledge tests, return demonstrations and clinical judgment activities.
• Develop lesson plans, facilitator guides, learning resources and assessment tools.
• Translate policies, legislation and best practices into practical education content.
• Partner with home and regional leaders to identify gaps, set learning priorities and provide mentorship.
• Utilise learning technologies and LMS to improve access and track participation, feedback and outcomes.
• Contribute to quality‑improvement and resident‑safety initiatives.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in good standing with the provincial regulator.
• 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in long‑term care or geriatrics.
• Current BCLS/CPR certification.
• Experience in clinical education delivery, adult‑learning principles and competency development.
