Class AZ (Class 1) Driver – Freight Transport

About the role

This position is for a Class AZ (Class 1) driver responsible for transporting freight to and from stations, hub facilities, and handling large or multiple-piece skidded shipments. The role requires safe, urgent delivery and the operation of power material‑handling equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Transport freight between stations, hubs, and customer locations.
• Pick up and deliver large or multiple‑piece skidded shipments.
• Operate power material‑handling equipment for loading, weight balancing, and sequencing of unit loading devices.
• Complete required customs paperwork, FAST regulations, and TORTES applications.
• Maintain compliance with dangerous‑goods handling, ULD inspection, and drug/alcohol testing requirements.

Required profile

• High school diploma.
• At least 12 months heavy‑vehicle driving experience (preferred).
• Class AZ (Class 1) driver’s licence with a good driving record.
• Air‑brake certification and Class 1 licence in Quebec.
• Current certification in dangerous‑goods handling, material‑handling equipment operation, and ULD inspection.
• Ability to pass provincial transportation physicals and written tests.
• Knowledge of intra‑ and inter‑provincial regulations, map reading, and emergency response procedures.
