Class 1 Highway Driver - Dawson City

About the role

Manitoulin Transport, which runs an extensive transportation network across North America, is hiring a Class 1 highway driver for a regular run between Stewart Crossing, YT and Dawson City, YT. The route is taken Monday to Friday, 5pm to 4am, hauling a 53ft reefer trailer.

Key responsibilities

• Haul a 53ft reefer trailer to and from Stewart Crossing, YT nightly, then to Dawson City, YT
• Pick up mail at the Dawson City post office and load it into the highway trailer before departure
• Complete freight drops and pickups in Mayo, YT (Canada Post, Mayo Health and Mayo Bigway)
• Load and unload freight using a pallet jack and forklift
• Drive in adverse conditions and adapt to them

Required profile

• Valid Class 1 license
• 2 years of verifiable experience
• Physically fit and able to lift 50 pounds
• Clean drivers abstract and clean criminal record
• Positive attitude

Required skills

• Forklift experience is an asset
• Pallet jack operation
