Class 1 Full Roamer Truck Driver - Whitehorse

About the role

Manitoulin Transport, which has provided transportation and logistics solutions across North America for 65 years, is hiring a Class 1 Full Roamer Truck Driver to work out of its Whitehorse terminal. The role covers driver shortages across the Northern Canada Manitoulin network. It is not a fly-in/fly-out position.

Key responsibilities

• Operate Class 1 vehicles on LCV linehaul routes throughout Northern Canada
• Complete deliveries and pick-ups of goods safely and on time
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues
• Maintain accurate electric logs and comply with transportation regulations and hours-of-service requirements
• Secure loads properly and verify documentation before departure
• Communicate with dispatch, customers and management about delivery status and issues
• Follow safety protocols and company policies, and plan efficient routes to meet delivery schedules

Required profile

• Valid Class 1 driver's license
• 2 years of experience (LCV qualifications); the company is willing to train qualified applicants
• Mountain qualified (the company will train the right candidate)
• Physically fit
• Criminal record and driver's abstract
