Claims Associate – Inventory & Returns

About the role

The Claims Associate supports inventory accuracy and store profitability by managing damaged and returned merchandise in line with Walmart Canada guidelines. Working closely with vendors, store associates, and customers, this role ensures proper credits, maintains inventory control, and contributes to a safe, efficient store environment.

Key responsibilities

• Scan damaged, stolen, and returned items quickly to prevent loss.
• Prepare returns, vendor requests, recalls, and donation items, completing paperwork, packing, and shipping on schedule.
• Maintain a clean, safe claims area by following proper lifting, ladder use, and chemical disposal procedures.
• Follow company claims procedures, keep records up‑to‑date, and complete forms to reduce chargebacks.
• Support Customer Value Program tasks and assist other store team members as needed.
• Adapt to a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Required profile

• Flexibility to work varied schedules based on business needs.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, bend, and lift inventory or supplies up to 50 lb.
• Strong attention to detail and capacity to handle high task volume in a fast‑paced environment.
