Children and Youth Education Coordinator

About the role

The Children and Youth Education Coordinator plans, coordinates and delivers educational programmes for children and youth at the Centre for Sustainable Food Systems (CSFS) on UBC Farm. Working closely with the Education Manager and the wider CSFS Education Team, the role supports experiential learning about sustainability and food systems through seasonal and year‑round activities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement curriculum for summer camps, school visits, field trips, workshops, clubs and special events.
• Manage day‑to‑day programme operations, including scheduling, safety protocols and budget administration.
• Supervise seasonal staff and volunteers, providing guidance and performance feedback.
• Build and maintain partnerships with schools, community organisations and other UBC Farm teams.
• Ensure programmes are inclusive, safe and financially sustainable, aligning with the Centre’s mission and strategic priorities.

Required profile

• Experience delivering education programmes for children and youth, preferably in sustainability or food‑systems contexts.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong organisational and budget‑management skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
