Chief Executive Officer – Digital Asset Custody

About the role

The Chief Executive Officer will lead Systemic Trust Company (STC), a newly licensed Canadian digital‑asset custodian, from licensing through commercial launch. The role is revenue‑first, requiring the CEO to originate and close institutional custody mandates while building a compliant, scalable platform.

Key responsibilities

• Personally originate and close custody mandates with Canadian family offices, crypto‑native funds, pension funds and broker‑dealers, and develop a high‑performing sales team.
• Define STC’s market positioning, drive pipeline development, respond to RFPs, and represent the firm at industry conferences and regulatory roundtables.
• Maintain senior relationships with Alberta Treasury Board, Alberta Securities Commission, FINTRAC and other regulators, ensuring compliance with the Loan and Trust Corporations Act.
• Own profit and loss, work with the CFO on pricing and financial planning, and transition STC from a licensed entity to an active custodian.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years of progressive experience in business development, institutional sales or general management, with a proven record of originating and closing large mandates.
• Deep familiarity with digital assets, crypto markets and regulated financial environments, including LTCA and FINTRAC requirements.
• Strong network or credibility with Canadian capital allocators, family offices or crypto funds.
• Undergraduate degree in finance, business, economics, law or related field; MBA, CFA or equivalent is a plus.
