Category Manager

About the role

Lufa Farms is looking for a Category Manager to drive purchasing and merchandising strategies for its food product lines. Reporting to the Head of Purchasing, you will balance the company’s sustainability values with supplier relationships and new product development.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate agreements, purchase prices and promotional calendars with key suppliers; maintain daily contact to secure best results.
• Monitor market prices, visit competitors and adjust negotiation positions to stay within budget.
• Submit new products and suppliers, shaping a forward‑looking product offering based on market trends.
• Ensure merchandising rules are applied, audit product categories, and respond quickly to customer feedback.
• Oversee the Junior Purchaser’s performance, track inventory, and analyze profit‑and‑loss metrics.

Required profile

• Strong communicator in both French and English.
• Proven work ethic, adaptability and respect for deadlines.
• Experience in negotiation and strong organisational abilities.
• Post‑secondary degree; preferably a bachelor’s in commerce.
