About the role
Technic Roofing Ltd is seeking a skilled carpenter to join its team in Surrey, BC. The role involves working on residential and commercial projects, ensuring high‑quality construction and adherence to building codes.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare estimates of labour and material costs.
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
- Prepare layouts using measuring tools and in compliance with building codes.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wood, wood substitutes and lightweight steel.
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay sub‑flooring and erect walls and roof systems.
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
- Supervise other workers on site.
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and other wooden structures.
Required profile
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- 2 to less than 3 years of carpentry experience.
Required skills
- Blueprint reading.
- Measuring and layout using construction tools.
- Wood cutting, shaping and assembly.
- Installation of windows, doors, stairs and mouldings.
- Supervision of construction crews.
