About the role

The Canada Impact+ Research Chair in Democratic and Community Resilience is a tenure‑track faculty position at McGill University. The chairholder will lead a high‑impact research programme that addresses democratic and community resilience while leveraging the Canada Impact+ funding.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an ambitious research agenda in democratic and community resilience.
  • Build and manage an interdisciplinary research team, including graduate students and post‑doctoral fellows.
  • Translate research outcomes into applications, commercialization, and societal benefits for Canada and globally.
  • Collaborate with academic, industry, government, and community partners across sectors and borders.
  • Secure additional funding and contribute to the strategic priorities of the Impact+ program.

Required profile

  • Recent track record of high‑quality research publications and impact.
  • Internationally based at the time of application.
  • Eligibility for a tenure‑track appointment at the rank of Associate Professor (with promotion to Full Professor within two years) or Full Professor.
  • Commitment to start the position within 12 months of award acceptance.
