Campus Mail Driver/Sorter (Auxiliary)

About the role

Under the general administrative direction of the Operations Manager and the direct supervision of the Campus Mail Coordinators, the Campus Mail Driver/Sorter (Auxiliary) operates a mail truck or van to deliver internal and external mail and parcels across the UBC Vancouver campus. This fixed‑term, leave‑replacement position ensures timely distribution of mail while maintaining vehicle safety and providing customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Drive a mail truck, van or other delivery vehicles to distribute mail and parcels to designated points on and off campus.
• Pick up and deliver mail/parcels at various departmental locations on a scheduled or on‑call basis.
• Sort, assemble and bundle mail/parcels for distribution.
• Obtain signatures for registered, courier and other parcels and respond to related inquiries.
• Maintain vehicle fluid levels, tire pressure and ensure safe operating condition.

Required profile

• High school graduation and a valid BC driver’s licence.
• Minimum six months of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and willingness to respect diverse perspectives.

Required skills

• Ability to operate computers, computer operating systems and productivity software.
• Familiarity with metering and associated mailing equipment.
