Cabinetmaker – Custom Woodworking

About the role

Woodrose Woodworking is seeking an experienced cabinetmaker to join our custom cabinet and millwork shop in Vancouver. You will work with a team to produce high‑quality cabinets, built‑in units, doors, and kitchen vanities for residential and commercial clients.

Key responsibilities

• Operate woodworking machines such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers to cut, shape and form components.
• Use hand tools (planes, chisels, wood files) to shape surfaces and edges.
• Read and interpret plans, specifications or drawings to produce required articles.
• Trim joints, fit parts and sub‑assemblies, and reinforce joints to create complete units.
• Sand surfaces and apply veneer, stain, polish or laminated plastics to finish products.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in custom cabinet or millwork production.
• Relevant certifications: Joiner (Cabinetmaker) Trade Certification, Red Seal Cabinetmaker, First Aid.
• Organized, detail‑oriented team player.

Required skills

• Operation of power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers.
• Proficiency with hand tools: planes, chisels, wood files.
• Use of CADD and related computer software for layout and design.
• Trimming and fitting joints, sanding, and applying finishes (veneer, stain, polish).
• Application of laminated plastics.
