Business Development Executive

About the role
Util-Assist is seeking a Business Development Executive to lead the creation and execution of its growth strategy across North‑American utility markets. Reporting to the President, you will guide a team of business development professionals to meet annual revenue targets and expand the company’s market presence.
Key responsibilities
- Define and implement short‑ and long‑term sales, lead‑generation, and partnership strategies aligned with profitability goals.
- Develop market strategies for new and existing services, establishing account plans and go‑to‑market approaches.
- Oversee the full sales cycle, from pipeline management to closing, ensuring efficient progression through each stage.
- Collaborate with finance to set pricing structures and rate cards for service offerings.
- Implement and maintain a corporate CRM system to track leads and pipeline health.
- Identify and formalize agreements with strategic partners to deliver joint solutions.
- Lead external communications, brand awareness initiatives, and represent Util‑Assist at industry events.
- Monitor competitive landscape, win/loss data, and market trends to refine selling strategies.
- Manage the department’s budget, business plan, and regular performance reporting to senior leadership.
- Provide coaching, performance management, and resource planning for direct reports.
Required profile
- Proven experience leading business development or sales teams in a B2B environment.
- Strong understanding of utility, energy, or related technology markets.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans that drive revenue growth.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Ability to analyze market data and translate insights into actionable initiatives.
Required skills
- Experience with corporate CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
- Knowledge of pricing and rate‑card development.
- Familiarity with budgeting and financial reporting.
