Business Development Coordinator

About the role

The Business Development Coordinator will support BKL Consultants’ growth by managing the lead pipeline, identifying new opportunities, and coordinating client outreach. Based in Burnaby with a hybrid work option, the role sits at the centre of the firm’s pursuit efforts, linking prospects with the right internal resources.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor bid sites and procurement platforms, review RFPs and assess fit with BKL’s services.
• Maintain lead intake in the CRM, log, categorize, qualify opportunities and track win/loss outcomes.
• Prepare opportunity summaries, including scope, timeline and submission requirements for internal review.
• Use social selling and prospecting tools to research prospective clients and decision‑makers.
• Draft outreach communications, talking points and coordinate lunch‑and‑learn presentations with target firms.
• Track client touchpoints, maintain contact databases and flag follow‑up opportunities.
• Monitor industry news and market trends to inform go/no‑go decisions.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional attitude.
• Highly organized, able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks.
• Self‑starter who works independently with minimal supervision.
