Bus Operator (Public Transit)

About the role

The City of Belleville is seeking a dedicated Bus Operator to join its Transportation and Operations Services Department. Working from the Transit Terminal, you will drive a city bus on scheduled routes, providing safe and courteous service to passengers across the community.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a transit bus in accordance with the city’s schedule and safety regulations.
• Ensure a safe, comfortable, and pleasant experience for all passengers.
• Monitor passenger behavior and road conditions, responding appropriately to challenging weather or traffic situations.
• Maintain professional appearance by wearing the required uniform.
• Communicate effectively with passengers, handling inquiries and concerns with tact and diplomacy.
• Work independently for extended periods while adhering to schedule guidelines.
