Building Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

The Building Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for maintaining facilities and improving building maintenance services at Excelitas Technologies. The role involves planning, supervising staff and contractors, and ensuring health and safety compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop an annual building maintenance plan, justify expenses, and manage preventative and corrective schedules.
• Supervise workers and contractors from various trades, ensuring health and safety rules are followed.
• Prioritize and resolve issues related to HVAC, mechanical systems, pumps, fans, and control systems.
• Coordinate contractor work, material supply, and inventory management.
• Lead small improvement projects such as water system upgrades and ventilation enhancements.

Required profile

• BAC or DEC/AEC in mechanics or electricity with at least five years of supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, environmental control, and electrical building systems.
• Excellent problem‑solving, interpersonal, and communication skills in both French and English.
• Experience working in a unionized environment and ability to estimate project costs.
