Boiler Technician – Service Department

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Boiler Technician to join the Service Department of Wiehler Mechanical in Calgary. The successful candidate will install, service, and troubleshoot residential and commercial hydronic and boiler systems, ensuring reliable heating performance for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Install new hydronic and boiler systems in residential, commercial, and custom‑home projects.
• Perform repairs, maintenance, burner tuning, cleaning, and component replacement.
• Test, calibrate, and program controls, safety devices, pumps, expansion tanks, and related piping.
• Maintain accurate service records, parts usage, and follow‑up actions.
• Ensure all work complies with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Provide clear explanations of issues, repair options, and maintenance recommendations to customers.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience with commercial, residential, or custom‑home hydronic systems.
• Journeyperson or 4th‑year trade ticket.
• Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean record.
• Strong troubleshooting ability and capacity to work with minimal supervision.
• Positive attitude, excellent communication, and customer‑service focus.

Required skills

• Hydronic boiler installation and repair.
• Burner tuning and component replacement.
• Control testing, calibration, and programming.
• Use of iPad and Service Titan field‑service software.
