Baker / Pastry Chef

About the role

We are seeking an experienced baker and pastry chef to join our team at Pinetree Catering in Ware, Ontario. The position involves preparing a wide variety of baked goods, supervising kitchen staff, and maintaining high quality standards in a large‑volume bakery environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare dough, batters, pastries, cakes, and icings according to recipes and special customer orders.
• Supervise and train baking personnel and kitchen staff, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Draw up production schedules, order supplies, and manage inventory.
• Frost and decorate cakes and other baked goods for special occasions.
• Inspect kitchen areas and operate bakery machinery.

Required profile

• Trade certificate or diploma in Baking and Pastry Arts (or equivalent experience).
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a high‑volume bakery, café or restaurant.
• Baker Trade Certification and Red Seal Certificate.
• Clearances: basic security, airport security, child abuse registry, criminal record check.
• Ability to handle physical demands such as standing for long periods and lifting heavy loads.
