Backend Software Engineer (Go) – Remote Canada

About the role

StackAdapt is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to design and build highly scalable, real‑time micro‑services that power its AI‑driven advertising platform. You will work remotely from anywhere in Canada, collaborating with a fast‑growing team that handles millions of ad‑bidding requests per second.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain distributed micro‑services primarily using Go.
• Work with large data sets and a variety of databases such as Aerospike, Elasticsearch, Redis, ScyllaDB, Redshift, TiDB and MariaDB.
• Integrate messaging systems like Kafka, SQS and Kinesis to enable real‑time data pipelines.
• Write performance‑efficient, memory‑optimized code and conduct low‑level optimizations.
• Collaborate with product and data science teams to embed ML models and campaign‑pacing algorithms.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional experience as a Backend Software Engineer.
• Strong problem‑solving skills in data structures, algorithms and system optimization.
• Hands‑on experience with relational databases and/or key‑value stores.
• Proven ability to build scalable micro‑services and distributed systems.

Required skills

• Go programming language.

• Kafka, Amazon SQS, Amazon Kinesis.
• Micro‑services architecture and distributed systems design.
