Automation and Control Technician

About the role

Keurig Dr Pepper is hiring a full-time Automation and Control Technician in Montreal. The role covers troubleshooting, programming and maintaining industrial automation equipment, working closely with the engineering and maintenance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Modify and program Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Fanuc, Omron and Beckhoff PLCs, and work with DC and AC motor controllers and drives
• Perform adjustments and repairs when automation equipment breaks down, and support maintenance during outages using laptops, diagnostic software and tools
• Program and modify marking software, and maintain and program SQL databases
• Program and troubleshoot Cognex vision systems, and adjust and modify Fanuc robots
• Modify and program operator interfaces and SCADA systems such as GE iFIX, GE Workflow, and FactoryTalk View SE and ME
• Order the hardware needed to repair equipment, and help commission new equipment with the engineering team
• Identify improvements to existing equipment and calibrate instruments such as load cells, ultrasonic sensors and temperature/humidity controls
• Provide technical support to electromechanics and other maintenance staff, and follow safety rules

Required profile

• 2 to 3 years of experience in an industrial environment
• DEC or AEC in instrumentation and automation
• Functional bilingualism (French/English)
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMI programming, and knowledge of network protocols such as DH+, Ethernet and fibre optics
• Good knowledge of AC and DC drives, and knowledge of SQL, VB.NET and VBA
• University degree is an asset
