Associate Software Engineer in Test

About the role

Veeva Systems, a pioneer in industry cloud for life sciences companies, is hiring Associate Software Engineers in Test in Toronto. Working in the Quality Assurance and Release Engineering team, you will handle functional and automation testing of software used across pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and medical devices. Graduates or people interested in quality engineering are welcome to apply, with an onboarding program that includes a dedicated buddy.

Key responsibilities

• Use programming skills to automate and optimize testing of cloud-based applications
• Contribute to the automation test framework and automation architecture
• Create and improve testing documentation such as test plans, test cases and automation scripts
• Run QA tests and verify outcomes
• Help build a scalable, 24/7 cloud-based test infrastructure
• Diagnose, debug and fix issues in a cloud-based automation environment

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Knowledge of Java and object-oriented methodologies
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Located near or willing to relocate near a Veeva office, and able to work in the office 4 days per week during the first 2 years

Nice to have

• Test automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright or Cypress
• Version control (Git)
• CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI
• Containerization tools like Docker or AWS

What we offer

• Base pay of $75,000 - $95,000 CAD, with possible bonus and/or stock bonus
