Assistant Superintendent

About the role

Froude Management Inc. is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support the site superintendent in delivering high‑quality construction projects. You will work closely with the project team, subcontractors, and clients to ensure safety, schedule adherence, and cost control.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the superintendent in implementing FMI’s safety program and monitoring site safety performance.
• Lead foreman meetings, motivate the site crew and subcontractors, and ensure high workmanship standards.
• Track project budgets, review estimates, and support cost‑control activities.
• Review drawings and sub‑trade contracts for accuracy and identify scope discrepancies.
• Monitor project schedule using standard scheduling software.
• Coordinate equipment and supply logistics to keep resources on‑site as needed.
• Communicate potential issues, schedule conflicts, or work interferences to the superintendent or project manager.
• Contribute to the development and execution of the Project Execution Plan and maintain project documentation.

Required profile

• Journeyman certificate or post‑secondary diploma/engineering degree in a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a field engineer, field coordinator, lead hand or foreman.
• Strong leadership, problem‑solving and people‑management abilities.
• Knowledge of local, provincial and federal workplace regulations and building codes.
• Proactive attitude with the ability to manage difficult situations.
