Assistant Superintendent

About the role

FCC Canada is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support the delivery of the Scarborough Subway Extension project. The role involves assisting in the day‑to‑day management of site operations, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring work aligns with project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily site operations and construction activities.
• Plan and supervise subcontractors and internal crews, determining construction methods, manpower, material quantities, equipment, and work schedules.
• Take responsibility for sub‑trade productivity, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance.
• Understand project scope and sequencing, prioritize tasks, and redirect crews and equipment to minimize downtime.
• Ensure construction complies with drawings, specifications, schedule, budget, and quality guidelines.
• Interface with client representatives, design consultants, and other contractors.
• Maintain field documentation such as safety records, daily progress reports, rental records, concrete logs, and as‑built drawings.
