About the role
The Faculty of Dentistry at the University of British Columbia is seeking a full‑time Assistant Professor in Pediatric Dentistry. This tenure‑stream appointment will join the Department of Oral Health Sciences and will focus on teaching, research, and clinical excellence in pediatric oral health.
Key responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate (DMD) and graduate dental programs with an emphasis on pediatric dentistry.
- Develop and enhance the existing DMD curriculum related to child oral health.
- Conduct independent research that advances oral health outcomes for children in British Columbia.
- Collaborate with DMD and graduate programs, providing educational leadership across the Faculty.
- Engage with faculty, staff, and students in a collegial, interdisciplinary environment.
Required profile
- Completed postgraduate training in pediatric dentistry.
- Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence and scholarly research.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in academia.
- Canadian citizenship or permanent residency preferred.
Required skills
- Clinical expertise in pediatric dentistry.
- Research methodology and grant‑writing experience.
- Curriculum development for dental education.
