Assistant Professor in Dental Geriatrics

About the role
The Faculty of Dentistry at the University of British Columbia is seeking a full‑time Assistant Professor in Dental Geriatrics. This tenure‑stream position will join the Department of Oral Health Sciences and contribute to teaching, research, and clinical programs focused on the oral health of older adults.
Key responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate, pre‑doctoral and post‑doctoral dentistry courses.
- Develop and support a Fellowship program in Dental Geriatrics.
- Establish an independent research agenda that enhances oral health outcomes for seniors in British Columbia.
- Secure external research funding and publish scholarly work.
- Collaborate with DMD and graduate programs, faculty, staff and students across the university.
Required profile
- Completed MSc or PhD with a focus on Geriatrics.
- Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence and curriculum development.
- Strong record or promise of research productivity related to dental geriatrics.
- Experience in clinical or hospital dentistry is desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
