Assistant Manager - Aera

About the role

Aera, a restaurant on the 38th floor of The Well in Toronto offering cocktails, sushi, dining and a rooftop terrace, is looking for an Assistant Manager. You will work closely with the front-of-house and back-of-house teams to run day-to-day operations, build high-performing teams and uphold the restaurant's standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, including staffing, service execution, security and venue management
• Lead by example and communicate the restaurant's vision across all aspects of hospitality
• Maintain a top-tier beverage program and understand all food and beverage offerings
• Assist with inventory management of beverages and supplies while supporting profitability and cost controls
• Work with leadership to plan activations, events and guest experiences
• Support training, development and performance of team members
• Build strong relationships with guests, team members and senior leadership

Required profile

• 2-3 years of leadership experience in a high-volume hospitality environment; previous management experience preferred
• Experience managing large parties in a fast-paced setting
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and holidays, with more time available during peak periods and summer
• Experience leading a high-volume bar or lounge is an asset

Required skills

• Strong wine, cocktail and beverage knowledge; WSET certification is an asset
• Results-driven, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Exceptionally organized, adaptable and able to solve problems and resolve conflicts
